STUFF...Packin' It Up
STUFF. Too much of it! That's what I am all about right now.
Room by room, cupboard by cupboard, box by box. It seems to go on and on.
I hate moving, but I love getting out of here!
Where will this go or that go? Do we really need this anymore, or at all?
The garbage pile, the Good Will pile, the storage unit pile, the apartment pile.
Take these to the library donation shelf, these to the curb, this to the dump.
Just when I think I've made some progress, there is more STUFF.

We become prisoners to our 'stuff' and while moving is a pain it also forces a necessary periodic purge. You'll feel lighter once you're done. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteGeorge Carlin said it best, I think!
DeletePurging is healthy. And once you get into it, like you are now, you feel much more eager to get on with it. Once you take out the things that made that space yours, you feel free. So good luck and watch the back!
ReplyDeleteI agree. I am almost ascetic about it, but then stuff accumulates over time.
DeleteWe did a big purge 6 years ago, so this one is not so bad.
Good Will will be getting a lot of STUFF from us!
Every time we have ever moved I have always commented on how much stuff we seem to accumulate. It has turned me in to a bit of a minimalist. Have I used it in the last year or two? No....then out it goes. To donate or to throw away which ever was more fitting.
ReplyDeleteWe used to joke that when we were renting we'd move once a year or two just to purge the crap.
Good luck sorting through everything. Think of how good you will feel when all is said and done.
So true! It does feel good to "purge" and I keep going back through the stacks trying hard to NOT take it along with us again!
DeleteIt's not easy, is it?
I do pretty well keeping the stuff down with two notably exceptions. Paper. I do much of my stuff paperless and I still have way too much paper I seem to need to keep...and, motorcycle gear. Oy vey! How many pair of pants does one man need, for heavens sake!
ReplyDeleteLove the second photo. Nice find.

Yeah, it feels pretty appropriate right now! LOL
DeleteI'm hoping to lower his feet to the ground soon!
