Pretty Day in the Burbs

Not far down from my apartment complex I found an access road to a pretty plat of homes along 2 lane rural roads and side streets with cul-de-sacs.

It was 75 degrees, sunny, and a balmy autumn day. So nice for a little ride...

Another view down a peaceful side street...

And another...

Here's a "deer warning" sign next to an open field that stretches for acres.

Who knew "the country" was so close to my own doorstep?

Saw a lot of motorcycle riders. Unlike in "the country", no one waved back. Ho hum.

Hey, this burb scootin' is not so bad after all!

Looking forward to more joy rides this week with warm temps in the forecast...

    1. Yes, I am surprized myself! In fact, I am realizing that there are more fun places to scoot to here than living out in the sticks and only seeing lovely rural skylines! LOL

  2. Here's my WAVE Deb, I'm glad you were able to find some back roads and side streets to ride not to mention sunshine and 75ยบ autumn days. Sounds like things are working out for you after the move and all you've been through. The pups are okay, the burbs are feeling like home again so enjoy the time off to relax. It's all good.

    1. Reading this post yesterday caught me in a "low point" re my unemployment.

But you are right, I SHOULD just relax and enjoy instead of fretting over everything, as I am currently doing.

This week is "Indian summer" with highs in the 70s and sunshine and I hope to do some quality scooting while I can.

      Thanks for your encouragement!

  3. Hooray you got out for a scoot.

It is nice you were able to find some back roads so close to home. Get out and enjoy that warm weather while you can.

  4. Yay!

Here in St.Louis there is an organization that publishes a map of bike routes. I found many of these bike routes to be my eventual avenues to get from neighborhood to neighborhood. And, here we have marvelous alleys...although there are more things to make ones tires go flat in alleys than on streets. Still, a good alley is a whole world and worth the risk in my opinion.

    1. Now THAT'S a great idea that I had not thought of!

I am looking for a county map and thought I might "google earth" a bit to explore my county from my couch seat too.

Everything is so much more fun on a scooter, don't you think?

I am still looking for other scooter riders around here. Saw only one so far...
