East Fork River Sniff and Stroll

On Sunday I went along with two of my Bichons, Brela and Jolly, and we explored a trail along the East Fork of the Little Miami River in Clermont County.

It was a beautiful sunny day with low humidity and a few falling autumn leaves.

The area is also home to a Clermont County park and so it offers a paved path as well as a primitive one. We chose the paved one today.

The Little Miami River runs north to south in Ohio and is also the trace of the Little Miami Bicycle Trail which is part of the Ohio Erie Trail. Plans are in place for this rail trail to run from the Ohio River on the southern border up to Lake Erie on the northern border.

The river here is laced with many old growth trees. Here is a particularly curious formation.

  1. I imagine that your pure white dogs don't get to go for a swim very often! What a great day for them and a very pleasant trail.

    1. Actually they both did swim that day along in the shallow water which was amazingly clear!

  2. Sniff and Stroll. I like the name.

Something about going out for a walk in the woods that calms the mind. It looks very peaceful.

  3. Lovely pics Deb, I bet Brela and Jolly love going for walks there and they are off leash too! Looks like it was a lovely day to stroll.

  4. They are actually on 20 foot retractables, though it is hard to see that.

It gives them a little room to explore yet they are safe with mom!

  5. That is the one thing I miss the most living in the "deep south" is the colors. You get sick of only so many shades of green.

  6. Deb,
Looks like a lovely walking place and I'll be forever fond of those shallow, clear water spaces. That's a part of Ohio I very much want to visit. Other than I-80 and areas around Cleveland where our youngest is, my time in OH is lacking.
